Welcome to Flagstaff Academy!
Flagstaff Academy, a John Irwin School of Excellence, is a PreK-8 public charter school with a mission to provide a science-focused, liberal arts curriculum that promotes excellence, teamwork, respect and a lifelong love of learning. Throughout the education continuum, Flagstaff Academy will provide an integrated and challenging curriculum based upon the Core Knowledge curricular sequence.
Flagstaff Academy is located in Longmont, Colorado and is a public charter school within the St. Vrain Valley School District. This past summer we moved to a wonderful new facility at 2040 Miller Drive in Longmont.
This website is our information hub and communication portal. New visitors, be sure to check out our News/Announcements page to get a real sense of the school, week to week. You will find rich information about events, academics, and curriculum. The deeper you dig, the more you’ll find. Please peruse our middle school tech lab, our Library Media Center, and classroom web pages also. To touch into the heart of the school, review the “About Us” section, in which you’ll find specific information about who we are and what we do.
Our school is filled with examples of cross-curricular projects based in the Core Knowledge Sequence. Kids love learning at Flagstaff, and boredom is a four-letter word. We are committed to utilizing technology to enrich our classroom content. We Blog, Tweet, use Wiki’s and Google Docs; the key is that our students use these tools thoughtfully to synthesize and communicate new learning to their teachers, one another, and the world.
We love what we do. Please enjoy your visit.
