Lunch Program
Flagstaff Academy is partnering with the St. Vrain Valley School District's Department of Nutrition Services to offer a healthy hot-lunch program. Nutrition Services' goal is to provide programs that will improve the eating attitudes and habits of children and adults of this community which encompasses the following areas:
- Provide a quality nutrition service, which continuously improves our value to customers and clients, while achieving sustainable economic stability.
- To serve meals that complies with the USDA Dietary Guidelines.
- Incorporate whole grain products weekly.
- Offer a minimum of two fruits and vegetables at lunch daily.
- Monitor all meal items to make sure that they meet the metritional guidelines of less than 30% fat, 10% saturated fat and less than 30% sugar by weight.
- Offer variety and daily choices that are nutritionally sound to students.
- Marketing and Nutrition Education information on monthly menu, internet, and in school cafeterias.
- Provide Nutrition Education programs for children that, when integrated with other curriculum disciplines, will help to change the nutritional lifestyle habits of the next adult generation.
Paying Online/Meal Charging Service
SVVSD's Department of Nutrition Services offers all parents the opportunity to electronically deposit funds into their student's lunch account. The system makes use of an online account and requires the use of a credit card. For more information, please visit www.stvrain.EatSchoolLunch.com
If you prefer to pay by check, please make it payable to "SVVSD".
Meal Charge Policy
- K-8 students are allowed to charge lunches only.
- Students exceeding the allowable charge will not received a full meal. Students will receive white milk, fruit and vegetables only. This will be a limited service to help the child until another arrangement can be made with the parent to pay for meals.
- If you are unable to pay the charges owed, you must send a lunch from home.
- Once the charge has been paid, the student may resume buying lunch.

Cost
- $2.25 for K-5
- $2.50 for 6-8
- No charge or $0.40 for Free and Reduced only
- $0.50 for milk, juice or water
Free/Reduced Meals
Free and reduced price meals are available to students whose families qualify. Application for free and reduced price meals may be submitted anytime throughout the year and are available in school offices and online. The prices for a reduced price lunch are "no charge" and lunch $0.40.
In order for students to receive free or reduced price meals, a parent/guardian must complete an application and return it to the SVVSD's Department of Nuitrition Services for approval. A parent/guadian may apply for free/reduced meals anytime during the school year. If a parent/guardian has a change in their financial situation(i.e. a decrease in household income, an increase in household size, becoming unemployed, begins receiving food stamps, etc.) an application may be submitted even if the parent/guardian was not eligible at a prior time.
A NEW APPLICATION (per family) MUST BE FILLED OUT EVERY SCHOOL YEAR. PARENTS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MEAL PURCHASED UNTIL THE APPLICATION IS APPROVED.
