The mission at Flagstaff Academy is to develop students who are equipped to be well-rounded, ethical leaders in the world community with a foundation based on science and technology.

Flagstaff Academy Charter School Celebrates 20 Years of Excellence

Flagstaff Academy Charter School opened its doors on its 20th year of operation, marking two decades of academic innovation, community engagement, and student-centered learning. Since its founding in 2005, Flagstaff Academy has grown from a small, hopeful charter to Longmont’s premier tuition-free public charter school, now serving nearly 800 students and employing close to 100 dedicated teachers and staff.

The Flagstaff Academy Charter School preschool program has received a Level 5 quality rating from Colorado Shines, the state’s quality rating and improvement system for early care and learning programs. A Level 5 is the highest possible rating, underscoring Flagstaff Academy’s ongoing commitment to excellence in early childhood education.

Flagstaff Academy Recognized as 2025 Colorado Trailblazer “School to Watch”

Flagstaff Academy Charter School has once again earned statewide and national acclaim, having been named one of the 2025 Colorado Trailblazer Schools to Watch by the Colorado Association of Middle Level Education (CAMLE). The school is one of only five in Colorado to receive this designation and was honored at the National Schools to Watch Conference held over the summer in Washington, D.C.

Flagstaff Academy Students Shine at Statewide Microplastics Summit

Flagstaff Academy Charter School’s Green Team students presented at the 2025 Colorado Microplastics Summit, hosted by the Ocean First Institute in Denver. Sixteen student members, along with four staff advisors, attended the summit to present original research on the presence and impact of microplastics in local ecosystems.
