Driveline Do's and Don'ts

DO

  • Pull as far forward as you can before putting your car in park and letting your student out.
  • Let your student out as soon as the driveline queue stops. Don't wait until you are in the most optimal spot to let your student out; this delays the driveline process.
  • Have your student practice unbuckling themselves and getting out of the car independently (especially important for younger students). They can do it; we see it every day!
  • Pack all of your students belongings into their backpack (water bottles, lunch box, jackets, gloves, hats) so they are not trying to gather everything while trying to get out of the car.
  • Park on Miller Drive or in the Front Range Parking lot and walk your child onto school grounds if they need additional assistance exiting your vehicle.
  • Give a friendly wave to driveline staff and Student Safety Patrol as you pull through.

DO NOT

  • Exit your vehicle at any time. Give extra hugs and kisses at home before you depart for school.
  • Wait until you are in the most optimal spot in driveline before letting your student out of your vehicle. As soon as the driveline queue is stopped, let your student out.
  • Pull out of driveline until you are certain that your student is clear of your car.
  • Exit driveline in the middle in the middle of the queue; there is a risk of hitting students as the exit the cars in front of you.
  • Use your cell phone at any time while in driveline.
  • Speed! Driveline is a 5 mph zone.
  • Attempt to enter the school during morning or afternoon driveline. This is an incredibly busy time for our driveline and front office staff.
  • Speak harshly to driveline staff or members of the Student Safety Patrol. They are there to ensure a safe environment for all students.
