Health Office
Welcome to the Health Office at Flagstaff Academy
The Flagstaff Academy Health Office provides basic first aid to students, administers medication, and enacts emergency response care for severe allergies, asthma, diabetes, and seizures. The Health Office also implements health care plan interventions and informs teachers of student health needs. The Health Office tracks student immunization records and coordinates state mandated hearing and vision. What the health office can do for students
-
Give basic first aid.
-
Give medicines by nurse delegation and supervision.
-
Keep health files, including immunization (shot) records.
-
Tell you the date when your child will no longer be able to come to school (exclusion date) if shots are not up to date.
-
Talk to the district nurse about student health concerns.
What the health office cannot do for students
- Give medical opinions, advice, or diagnose your child’s health issue.
- Provide clinic services. If a student needs medical attention, parents will be told to call their family doctor.
- Dispense medicines without proper papers or delegation.
How can my child receive medicines at school?
All prescription and over the counter (OTC) medicines (such as pain reliever, cough drops, antacids) require a Medication Administration form available on our Medication Information and Forms page.
