About Mrs. Herrera
Leah Herrera has a journalism bachelor's and a teaching master's degree. Her own children, Maxwell and May, attended Flagstaff Academy from preschool through 8th grade and she spent many years in various volunteering positions during that time, making her deeply connected to the school.
With five years of teaching experience, Leah adores middle school students for their curiosity, humor, and creativity. Her 20-year publishing career before transitioning to teaching has enriched her ability to engage students with real-life connections to learning.
Leah works to provide a nurturing and academically rigorous classroom environment, promoting kindness, respect, and collaboration.
