Hey there, Dragons!

This is my 18th year in education, and my first here at Flagstaff Academy.  I have worked in schools as far west as Grand Junction and as far east as Milwaukee, WI!  In all that time, I have never been a part of such an inspiring school culture.  From the smiling faces of students as they walk in the front door, to the enthusiastic staff high-fiving in the halls--Flagstaff is a place where folks look out for each other and lend a hand when needed.  It’s a place where students are taught character alongside academics, and frankly, I feel honored to be a part of that excellent mission.

My educational philosophy is that students don’t care what you know until they know that you care.  My greatest joy as an educator is getting to build relationships with students and their families to address their individual social and emotional needs in a school setting.  I believe that all students need to feel seen and understood and that they all deserve to feel safe and secure to be themselves.  

As the Dean of Students, I look forward to helping students grow in their ability to be thoughtful of their peers and their environment, to regulate their emotions, to cope with challenges and overcome adversity.  Most of all, I want to help Flagstaff to be a safe and welcoming place for all.
