Welcome to Mrs. Wolff's Class!

Science Lab in the Outdoor ClassroomFlagstaff Academy is proud of its inquiry based, hands-on Science Lab that allows students to use the process of science to understand the world around them. All Kindergarten through fifth grade students visit Science Lab on a regular basis and classes take place in our designated Lab, Outdoor Classroom, or garden. Our units are aligned to Colorado Academic Standards and Next Generation Science Standards and incorporate literacy, geography, history and art. The Science Lab teacher collaborates with the Greenhouse Teacher and classroom teachers to increase depth of knowledge for students. The Science Lab provides an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the students' understanding of concepts and encourages a thirst for scientific exploration.

Welcome back! Things are going swimmingly here in Science Lab. We have a new fish tank ecosystem for calming and learning; thank you to Mr. Rumsey and his wife Melissa!

In these first few weeks of school we have been practicing safe science lab expectations, building connections, and diving into the exploration of the process of science. Science is a process, a way to understand the world, is based on evidence and is testable.
